Flinders Logistics is an award winning logistics and stevedoring services company, with a focus on the mineral resources and oil and gas sectors in Australia. Part of a wider group providing port services, Flinders Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of South Australian based Flinders Port Holdings. They needed their website to sell them as a proactive, innovative and safe logistics provider to their predominantly male mining industry audience to help them become the number one service provider in the state, while also appealing to business, community stakeholders, and other potential visitors.
A great user experience was key to achieving these goals. With our aim to get visitors to the website to either submit an enquiry or register for the newsletter, our solution needed to have a strong user experience and be full of useful content. First, we needed to create ease of use across platforms. Even though only 16% of visitors were arriving on mobile devices, it’s a rapidly growing area for the organisation, so it makes sense to have a good experience on any platform. We also implemented better calls to action, uniform branding across all Flinders Port Holdings sites, more strategically written content, a regularly updated news section, and integrated a google maps tool for their locations. All of this was backed up by a robust search engine optimisation strategy that we would continue to work with on an ongoing basis.
